Leite,Fosca P.P.
A descriptive account is given of the post-embrionic development of Amphilochus neapolitanus Della Valle, 1893 and Ampilhoe ramondi Audouin, 1826 living on Sargassum cymosum C. Agardh, 1820 of Ubatuba, Brazil (23º30'S-45º06'W) through the growth stage based on the morphological changes at each moult. The growth stages are described on the increase of antennal and pleopodal articles number and morphological alterations of gnathopods. The number of stages was found to be different for males and females and the maturity occurs after 6 and 5 post marsupial stages for A. neapolitanus and A. ramondi respectively.

Efeito da inoculacao de Septoria glycines Hemmi em plantas de soja (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) em quatro estadios de desenvolvimento. Infoteca-e
ALMEIDA, A. M. R..

Efficiency of the leaf disc method for estimating the leaf area index of soybean plants - doi: 10.4025/actasciagron.v35i4.16290 Agronomy
Pierozan Junior, Clovis; Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz"; Kawakami, Jackson; Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of the leaf disc method for estimating the leaf area index (LAI) of soybean plants in comparison with the digital photo method. A split-plot experimental design was used with three replications. The LAIs calculated by the leaf disc and digital photo methods were compared at four growth stages in four soybean cultivars (subplot). These soybean cultivars were sowed in Guarapuava, Paraná State, Brazil, at three different sowing dates (main plot) in the 2010/2011 growing season. Regression analysis was used for each group of samples, and the efficiency of the leaf disc method was evaluated on the basis of the coefficient of determination (R²), the calculated F and the intersection and abscissa errors....

Evapotranspiration and grain yield of upland rice as affected by water deficit AGRIAMBI
Guimarães,Cleber M.; Stone,Luís F.; Silva,Ana C. de L..
ABSTRACT To achieve an accurate phenotyping for drought tolerance, it is important to control water stress levels and timing. This study aimed to determine water use by upland rice plants during periods of irrigation withholding and its relationship with grain yield in order to increase the efficiency of this phenotyping. Two experiments were carried out in a randomized block design in which six water treatments (irrigation withholding for periods of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 days) were compared, with four replicates. In the first experiment, treatments were applied at the R3 stage (panicle exsertion) and, in the second, at the R5 stage (beginning of grain filling). The amount of water evapotranspired was determined by the difference between the soil water...

Variações morfológicas dos estágios pós-marsupiais de Sunampithoe pelagica Milne-Edwards (Crustacea, Amphipoda, Gammaridea, Ampithoidae) da fauna de Sargassum cymosum C. Agardh Zoologia
Leite,Fosca Pedini Pereira; Güth,Arthur Ziggiatti.
The post-marsupial growth stages of the gammaridean ampithoid species Sunampithoe pelagica Milne-Edwards, 1830, six developmental stages for juveniles, three for females and at least seven for males, were described. The characterization was based on the increase of antennal article number, in the morphological modifications of gnathopods I and II, and on alteration of the number of setae.

Vegetative and reproductive development of Costa Rican weedy rice compared with commercial rice (Oryza sativa) Planta Daninha
Sánchez-Olquín,E.; Arrieta-Espinoza,G.; Espinoza Esquivel,A.M..
The variability in the chronology of the vegetative and reproductive development of weedy rice complex has been little studied. However, a field trial was established to study the timing of growth stages of sixteen weedy rice morphotypes and five rice varieties of Costa Rica. Weedy rice presented a wide range of variation for all descriptors among and within morphotypes. Weedy rice was taller than the rice varieties during vegetative phase and showed a growth increase of 14-23 cm every two weeks. Six morphotypes emerged earlier than commercial rice varieties, but no differences where found between samples for the time required for starting tillering. Early emergence of weedy rice morphotypes was not associated with early flowering, thus no correlation was...
